Have you ever jerked away from nose-scrunching cheese? But, you keep sniffing at it as if to verify its stench? Yeah, me neither. Pretty soon you’re chomping into that sharp pungent stink! No? Same here. Your taste developes into a mouth-watering craving. Work with me here.

That pretty sums up what ST!NK is all about — sharp wit stories with bite, pore-penetrating essays, and reviews that whiff of pugnacious practicality that keeps its readers coming back for more.

How would you like your writing to be referred to as st!nk? Well, you’re in luck! I invite you to submit edgy flash fiction, short stories, snarky essays, creative nonfiction, and keeping-it-real reviews for inclusion in ST!NK, a new soon-to-be printed periodical.

My name is Ross, and I have an appreciation for unique voices from creative minds infected with poignancy and snark. I am currently working on a passion-project, ST!NK Journal, that I hope to turn into something, shall we say… substantial. ST!NK will be a compendium of stories, essays, reviews, and the like published in journal format (5” x 8.25”).

ST!NK hopes to attract creative thinker-readers who appreciate good writing, poignant prose, smart humor, and thoughtful insight wrapped in a neat design package.

As a guest writer, you will be paid $50 – $100 if your submission gets published. As we move out of the start-up phase, we will expect to pay our writers commensurate with periodical industry standards.

Submissions should be no more than 5,000 words for big st!nks, and as little as 150 words or so for small st!nks.

At this point in our start-up phase, we will accept previously posted work (on Medium.com or elsewhere). However, we will not consider submissions that have been published previously in print or digital formats.
